I have realized by now that not having a job has made me further my lazy tendencies. I have 40+ books waiting to be read, and I have yet to touch any of them. The book I have been wanting to read for days now, ‘Sorcery Rising’ sits on my night stand, openly mocking me for how I haven’t been paying attention to it. It just sits there, waiting for me to rustle those pages and fill my head with the world hidden inside. I have gotten started, through the prologue and most of the way through the first chapter. Something seems to be lacking in this book, however. I can’t seem to stay focused on it when I try to read it. I get far too distracted when I try to put my mind to it, and in essence, I utterly fail at concentration. Perhaps I shouldn’t be trying to force my way through this book. I shall go through another book before I find myself doing the same thing again. The Myst books were good, I liked where I got in them, and am also lightly versed in the lore of Myst already. Going back to them would be nice, eventually. I need something solid. I have not the Elder Scrolls novel, ‘The Infernal City’, something that I’ve been really wanting to read.
That really brings me to why I haven’t been reading that much lately. I blame The Elder Scroll IV: Oblivion. I’ve been far too engrossed in this game. Its world is beautiful beyond belief, and the lore behind it is so massive. I can’t seem to get enough of it.
Time to read.
